For some reason, people keep using these free WordPress themes. I’m not sure if they’ve just been around longer or if people are attracted to them for non obvious reasons. They aren’t my favorites, though some of them might be suited to peculiar projects.

Overrated WordPress themes

I’m not saying these themes suck. I don’t love the design. I feel like they’re meant for small businesses, services or online stores – and hey, for a free theme, they get the job done. They aren’t as pretty as our top WP theme choices, but maybe you don’t need pretty or stylish.

How did we choose this list?

These are themes that have a lot of downloads and installs, and also a lot of people searching for them. Some of them are pretty decent and we’ll talk about them again in other posts where they are more suited. We don’t hate them, we’re just unimpressed.
